Shocked by David Girard

We recently bottled our new vintages.  They are not released quite yet, however. The wines are in “bottle shock.”  As we all know, the wine industry is known for arcane jargon only a bucolic relative of Alan Greenspan could love.  The industry swells with collective pride when it can use a term like “bottle shock.”  Bottle shock seems to suggest not only sudden trauma, but a matter of profound gravity as well.  Perhaps only an experienced, trained professional could understand.  Perhaps we better not ask….  Perhaps we should.

Rose is Underway
After skipping a year of Rose production, winemaker Mari Wells has decided to bring back the Rhone classic with an enjoyable 2006 vintage.  Our carefully crafted dry Rose is done in the Rhone style, composed of Grenache and Mourvedre with a touch of Counoise to create a lively wine with hints of citrus.  Look for this new rose in early April.

Limited Production Reminder
As a small production winery, we are dedicated to creating a quality product with our distinctive winemaking touch.  This extra attention generates unmatched wines, but as a result, there are limited quantities on all productions at David Girard Vineyards.  Wine Club members receive the first release of all bottlings, so please visit us early to take home your favorite vintages - and don’t be surprised when they’re gone!

Calling All Club Members:
The time has come to create a distinctive name for our David Girard Vineyards Wine Club, and we would like your help in coming up with the perfect fit.  Get your creative juices flowing and submit an entry in the tasting room, or via email to: weddings@davidgirardvineyards.com
If we choose your entry, you will receive the next wine club shipment FREE!  There is no deadline for entries, and we will hold the contest until the perfect name is selected.  We can’t wait to hear what you come up with!

Calling All Artists:
What would you like to see on the front of a wine bottle?  Design a new wine label for our first “Bottle Your Own Party” coming this summer.  If we select your label as the winner, you will receive a magnum of David Girard wine with your creation on it!

Do you know how to capture a moment?  Bring your camera to any DGV event and submit your snapshots to be used in our Rhone Star Newsletter!  For each picture used in our newsletter, we’ll give you a bottle of your favorite DGV wine.  There is no deadline, ongoing submissions will be accepted.  Please submit all entries to: weddings@davidgirardvineyards.com
